The management of your life doesn't need to be as boring as it may sound. In fact, if you can do it right, and make it fun, then the rewards for you could be formidable.

How you manage your life is determined on how you balance family, relationships, work, education and leisure. It's all connected. Learning what works best for you in one area can immediately be implemented into many other things you’re trying to achieve or improve about yourself.

If you practise it long enough and put in the effort to make even the slightest change then the results from your efforts will be something you will thank yourself for. Without further-or-do here are the top 5 things to change your life.

1. Make sure to set your goal straight away

There's a right and wrong way to set goals.

By setting your goals straight away then you're able hit your targets that will enable you to stay on track. If you set them the wrong way, however, then you'll lack the proper which will cause you to potentially fall of the track.

Through the use of the SMART method of goal setting you are able to achieve your goals with precision.

It is also essential to ensure you have a passion or level understanding as to why you want to hit your goals. Without this, you are more likely to give up.

2. Get in control of your habits

Our behaviour affects every aspect of our lives. So in order to get closer to your vision of success you must change you behaviour that will enable to you work more efficiently towards that goal.

The science of habit is worth understanding. If we have good habits then this will accelerate your super stellar speed towards your goal. If, however, your bad habits are taking too much of your time away from achieving your goals, then it will take much longer to achieve.

Once you know how to start new successful behaviours that will form a habit then your will power will increase as well as your confidence of your own abilities to achieve your goal.

Research suggests that you should start on only one habit at a time. It's like a game of sport. You need to build up skills and train harder than everyone else on your team, this way, you'll be the star player and a team Capitan.

If you don't take control of your habits then they will take control of you. So get better at life management.

3. Adopt the 80/20 rule

The Paterno principle was first monitored in Italy during the late 19th century when nobles at the time discovered that a significant proportion of the land was owned by a small minority of people.

Over 80% of the land was owned by 20% of the population, and with this a trend began to emerge all throughout society on all scales of measurement.

Since then, the rule has been measured for habit forming. 20% of your results come from 80% of your efforts. That's a pretty depressing statistic. Yet, it can also be reversed as one can state that 20% of your efforts deliver 80% of your work.

Ever heard the phrase work smart and hard? If you manage to identify what delivers 80% of your results then you will be able to work smart and produce better results far more efficiently.

4. Dedicate your life to learning.

No one knows the point of life, if any. Many have preached their theology of why you are living right now, from Jesus Christ to the Church of Scientology.

Logically, if you want to understand the meaning behind something and cannot contemplate why it is happening then you must take a look at the results of such action. In the case of 'life', we continue to grow, evolve, adapt to our environment and survive. This is only possible because one is able to learn.

In short, if you accept the logical conclusion that life is therefore an opportunity to learn and advance then that means the desire to learn is enveloped within you.

Take the step towards self-education, and you will understand more about yourself than you would ever have hoped. Ask questions about yourself, to yourself.

Most importantly, read. If knowledge is power and the book contains knowledge; then a book really is more powerful than the sword.

I’m all about self-education, and I believe you should be too.

Reading is a great way to do all that. But so is traveling, having deep conversations with people, and even turning to your inner self by analysing your behaviour and deepest desires, meditating and journaling your thoughts.

5. Treat yourself

Treating yourself is great to track your progress. It can serve as a benefit both ways. Firstly, it can give you an extra incentive to aim towards. By having the desire to work towards a treat it can be motivating and actually help you hit your goal quicker.

Secondly, after you have rewarded yourself you can review with full satisfaction the progression you have made, this in effect, can further motivate your desire to hit a higher goal in the future.
